This engagement session took place in L.A. Atheltic Club in downtown LA. Grace and Nick will celebrate their wedding at the same venue in October this year. I think that this was perfect because I could know the location and get ideas for the wedding day.
They are a lovely couple and very natural in front of the camera. At no moment I needed to instruct them anything. Grace and Nick just were themselves. They understood very clearly when I told them that I just wanted them to have a great time. Therefore, I could get nice pictures because the couple didn’t fake the poses. They were natural.
Before showing the pictures, I would like to show this video about behind the camera scenes of this engagement session in L.A.
Engagement Session in L.A.
Firstly, I love to be early enough to know the place and get the right settings for my camera. I also like to make some videos and pictures that can tell a story.
Inside of the L.A. Athletic Club, it is bit dark. For that reason, I’ve had to use my flash out of the camera and point it to the ceiling. As a result, I get a soft and beautiful light.
How important is the attitude of the couple? As you can see, the pictures are beautiful because the couple was always relaxed and had a good time. But it is true too, the photographer should give trust and comfort. In my opinion, it is very important to have a meeting before having a photoshoot. In there, I can explain my way to work and give the trust that the couple may need.
Therefore, take a look at these pictures and let me know in the comments what do you think about them. I hope you like them.
En passant, I want to take advantage of these lines to invite you to follow me on Instagram and Facebook accounts. That way, you can see my last work samples and be informed about offers and promotions. Don’t forget to take a look at my WeddingWire and yelp account too.
